Operating in many African countries, Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque covers transportation, accommodation, and medical expenses for children suffering from heart diseases that cannot be treated in their home countries.
APRC Mécénat supported the program by financing two surgical interventions for two children. The company was delighted to welcome one of the children and their host family to the traditional Christmas party held for the children of APRC Group employees.

“Founded in 1996 by Professor Francine Leca, Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque has operated on over 4,500 children worldwide, including 400 in 2023 alone. Among them are Issouf (aged 3½ from Ivory Coast) and Mohamed (aged 1½ from Mauritania), both suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot. Their successful treatment was made possible through the partnership with APRC Mécénat.
Our commitment extends beyond the surgeries themselves, encompassing comprehensive support for families. For parents back home, it is a significant comfort to know their child is receiving care with kindness and special attention not only from their host families but also within the welcoming environment of APRC employees’ children, exemplified during events like a tea party. In regions like Niger, where there is only one cardiopediatrician for every 170 million people, we remain committed to following these children throughout their lives.
To address the critical shortage of cardiopediatricians in the countries we serve, Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque has launched a free cardiopediatrics training program. This initiative aims to equip local doctors with the skills to prepare complete medical records and make precise diagnoses, thus improving the care pathway for future patients.
