In 2021, the ANAIS Foundation aimed to integrate sports more deeply into the daily lives of disabled individuals across its establishments, spanning children, adults, and the elderly while promoting sports as a means to enhance physical, mental, and social well-being.
In this context, APRC Mécénat has joined forces with the “A ton sport, à ta santé” project, which began with cycling, organized around training sessions and challenges. Cycling is a non-traumatic sport that can be adapted to different types of disability (intellectual disability, mental health problems, autism, multiple disabilities and associated disabilities).
APRC Mécénat financed the project as well as the acquisition of a tricycle for the residents of the Barenton nursing home.
“Creating magical moments to escape disability and transcend everyday life”.
Isabelle Bihel – Manager of Anais
“Reaching out to others, embracing differences with humility and attentiveness, and giving everyone the chance to experience magical moments: this is the essence of APRC Mécénat’s partnership. For the 25 residents of the Barenton care home, many of whom face disabilities stemming from childhood trauma, having their adult lives truly cared for is an unfamiliar yet transformative experience.
Thanks to APRC Mécénat, eight individuals were able to participate in the “A ton sport à ta santé” project, creating cherished memories during a three-day sporting challenge in Vincennes. The experience continued with a visit to Paris, where they explored the Stade de France and the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, the partnership financed a tricycle bike, enabling daily sports activities at the care home. While our association never expected support from the corporate world, meeting the APRC Mécénat team has been the most delightful surprise of 2023!”
